Alexander advises local and international companies on various commercial and competition law matters, advertising, trade (retail) law and public procurement issues.

Alexander has considerable experience that includes advising clients on antitrust law matters, providing recommendations on structuring commercials models and implementation of antitrust compliance tools.

Alexander supports clients in competition litigation and other venues of interaction with competition authority (FAS), including merger control.

From a business perspective, Alexander has extensive knowledge of a range industries with a focus on the pharmaceutical and medical devices markets, FMCG and the retail sector. Alexander has extensive expertise consulting clients from life sciences and healthcare sector on regulatory and commercial matters. Alexander also has experience in advising on matters of gambling/gaming regulations.

Alexander is a member of the Competition Experts Association and contributes analytical articles to expert and business media.

Experience

• representing a global manufacturer of medical devices before the regional antitrust authority in a public procurement collusion case

• representing a global manufacturer of specialized construction equipment before the Eurasian Economic Comission in relation to commercial practices of cooperation with regional dealers

• supporting a major UK-based investment company in acquiring a Russian IT-company developing solutions for the automotive sector as well as obtaining merger clearance of the transaction with the FAS

• assisting a major UK manufacturer of medical devices in resolving issues stemming from a relationship with its distributor in Russia as well as advising on registration issues and communication with the healthcare authority

• conducting an antitrust audit of commercial practices of a major pharmaceutical manufacturer’s group of companies, introducing an antitrust compliance mechanism and assistance in the integration of antitrust compliance function into the framework of internal management structure

• regulatory audit of a major manufacturer of generic medicines, reviewing business practices related to advertising, relationship with HCPs, sponsorship, and event organizations as well as providing recommendations for improving internal compliance
