Alexander specializes in supporting disputes of any complexity in state courts and arbitration. Alexander has participated in international and domestic disputes involving complex frameworks, with multiple parties and involving a high level of coordination.

Alexander has participated in disputes related to international and domestic supply and service, securities markets contracts, corporate disputes, as well as general cases on the recovery of damages, etc.

Experience

• representing a company belonging to a major Russian chemical holding in an SCC arbitration case against a Swiss contractor who refused to fulfill its obligations under an EPC – a contract referring to the alleged sanctions restrictions
• managing a dispute for a company belonging to a major chemical industry holding where the client, as a buyer, recovered an unearned advance payment and damages for non-performance from the Swiss seller. The dispute involved a complex set of circumstances as well as the application of Swiss and Swedish law, as well as EU sanctions regulations
• representing a subsidiary of a major Russian investment fund in a multilateral dispute (4 parties) with Indian suppliers over the breach of a vaccine supply agreement. The dispute involved a complex set of circumstances based on its multilateral nature. The project dealt with the application of English law and also required specialized knowledge in the field of pharmaceutical law
• engaging in proceedings on the side of a major Russian corporation in the field of advanced technologies aiming at challenging the Guernsey Court of Appeal’s order. The dispute was subject to English law and involved an appeal to the Privy Council of Great Britain
• supporting a dispute related to the protection of the depository's interests in connection with investor claims in the securities market. The dispute involved many complex issues relating to jurisdiction, contractual and non-contractual obligations, securities market specifics and a large foreign element
