Ilya is a patent attorney specializing in “Computer Programs, Databases, and Integrated Circuit Layout-Design” as well as “Trademarks and Service marks.” He registers intellectual property and represents clients in disputes before courts and government agencies, including domain name disputes, disputes arising from software development agreements, disputes concerning the unauthorized use of databases, as well as other categories of disputes involving intangible assets.
Additionally, Ilya focuses on providing legal support throughout media and IT projects, including for the launch of online services and implementing compliance measures. Ilya has extensive experience advising on software licensing, conducting due diligence on intangible assets, and preparing legal opinions on the ownership of rights. Ilya also advises on the legal aspects of implementing Open Source solutions in clients' products.
Experience
- providing legal support for social networks of the Russian Investment Technology Corporation, including the following projects: programs for monetizing user content, a fintech project for payments to participants of such programs, and also the NFT platform, application testing services, etc.
- providing legal support for a large platform of apps and games
- providing legal support for the launches of user services, including a service for selling electronic tickets for events, a dating application, etc.
- successfully defending the client’s interests in a dispute regarding cybersquatting (illegal registration of a domain name for the purpose of resale) under the UDRP procedure in WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center
- supporting the process of purchasing the necessary licenses when modifying / adapting / integrating external software and ensuring compliance with attribution requirements when using open-source software
- extensive experience in drafting contracts, in particular licensing agreements and rights transfer agreements, agreements on the provision of software as a service, as well as agreements for outsourcing software development, pre-installation of applications on smartphones, performing affiliate programs, marketing campaigns, etc.
