Ivan specialises in M&A transactions, strategic joint ventures and corporate restructurings, with a particular focus on complex domestic and cross-border deals.

Ivan also advises borrowers in distressed situations and on debt restructurings.

His transactional experience covers a broad range of sectors, including oil and gas, industrial manufacturing, transport, TMT and consumer goods. Over recent years, Ivan has led a number of high-profile and award-winning transactions for leading Russian corporates, banks and family offices.

Experience

• advising a consortium of investors on a complex multi-jurisdictional transaction involving one of the largest FMCG companies in Russia
• advising Alfa-Bank on the acquisition of Pushkinsky (which includes the ‘Rossiya’ cinema at Pushkinskaya Square) and KARO FILM Sevastopolsky – “Deal of the Year, 2025” by Kommersant Legal Rating
• advising Inter RAO Group on the acquisition of 98.4% of shares in SPA ELSIB, a major manufacturer of generators and large electrical machines for CHPPs, TPPs, SDPPs, HPPs and NPPs – “Deal of the Year, 2024” by Kommersant Legal Rating
• advising Kismet Capital Group on the sale of media assets to a consortium of investors – “Deal of the Year, 2024” by Kommersant Legal Rating
• advising a major US oil company on the divestment of its oil and gas assets in the North Sea
• advising on a series of transactions, which resulted in VK becoming the owner of the Dzen and Novosti – “Deal of the Year, 2022” by Kommersant Legal Rating
