Rolan also has experience in preparing expert opinions on Russian legislation for international disputes.

Experience

• representing a subsidiary of a major foreign investment bank in a series of disputes concerning joint and several liability for damages incurred by the parent company due to the impact of sanctions restrictions
• providing legal support for a major foreign automobile manufacturer in a bankruptcy case involving a large Russian dealer, including a separate dispute on the invalidation of an assignment agreement
• preparing a legal opinion on Russian law in an ICC international arbitration case in a dispute between a major Russian oil company and a foreign contractor under a service agreement
• representing a global automotive components manufacturer in a dispute with the prosecutor’s office over the invalidation of a localization agreement
• representing the Russian subsidiary of an international engine manufacturer in a counterparty’s bankruptcy case, including a separate dispute on the invalidation of multiple transactions totaling over RUB 1bn
• representing Russia’s largest agricultural holding in a dispute over the seizure of agricultural land by state authorities due to alleged violations of land use regulations
