The deadline for the development of oil spill prevention and rehabilitation plans for onshore facilities is approaching

On 1 January 2024, the deadline expires for companies engaged in the geological study, exploration and production of hydrocarbons, as well as the processing, transportation, storage, and sale of hydrocarbons and their products, to put in place and get approval for their oil spill prevention and response plans.

If said plans are not approved in accordance with the established procedure, the relevant exploiting organization may be held administratively liable.
