During the course of his career, Alexey has earned a strong reputation as a leading lawyer within energy and natural resources. He has also established valuable working relationships with some of the industry's key players and decision-makers. Alexey has hands-on experience in overseeing transactions within subsoil operations from negotiations through to all aspects of structuring and financing. Alexey regularly advises on high-profile and large-scale transactions in the energy sector.

Alexey has authored a number of peer-reviewed publications within the energy sector, including the book “The Legal Regulation of Investment Cooperation between Russian and Foreign Companies in the Implementation of Projects for Subsoil Development in the Russian Federation”.

Experience

• advising and developing the structure of a major joint subsoil development project between a major Russian oil and gas corporation and a global energy company, drafting and negotiating amendments to key agreements

• advising international companies Baker Hughes, Exxon and Wintershall DEA on the storage and use of geological subsurface information

• setting up and forming a JV between an international oil company and a Russian state oil company

• setting up and structuring an offshore operator for continental shelf exploration activities as a cooperative between an international oil company and a Russian state oil company

• overseeing bids by an international oil company, Shell, to subsoil use tenders in Russia which resulted in the company obtaining subsoil licenses

• performing an equity dilution for a subsidiary of an international oil company in Russia
