About

Yury specializes in representing the interests of Russian and foreign legal entities in commercial disputes in arbitrazh courts as well as courts of general jurisdiction at all levels. Yury advises Russian and foreign clients on various aspects of Russian law and possesses extensive experience in conducting comprehensive legal due diligence on companies to clear them for M&A transactions.

Yury regularly participates in criminal cases as a defense attorney during preliminary investigations and before courts accusing his clients of economic crimes.

Yury is an advocate and a member of the Bar Association of the Moscow Region.

Experience

• representing the interests of the management of a large Russian manufacturing company in a criminal case on charges of committing fraud on an especially large scale in the amount of RUB 45m initiated by the Russian FSB Directorate for the Magadan Region, which resulted in the court issuing an acquittal
• representing the interests of the company's management in the rehabilitation process which resulted in more than RUB 10m of property damage and RUB 1 million of compensation for moral damages being recovered from the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation for illegal criminal prosecution
• representing the interests of a large manufacturer of confectionery products in numerous disputes regarding the return of expensive production equipment worth more than RUB 1bn in disputes over challenging transactions, vindication, and the recovery of damages. Defending the company's management in a criminal case on charges of committing large-scale fraud in the amount of RUB 1.3bn initiated by the State Investigative Directorate of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the St. Petersburg and Leningrad region resulting in an acquittal from the court 
• representing the interests of a brewing company in disputes related to the protection of the company’s intangible assets that were lost due to the application of sanctions against Russian legal entities by EU countries, which resulted in the client's demands being satisfied by the court 
• representing the interests of a large meat production enterprise in a dispute regarding the requirements of Rosprirodnadzor to collect fees for its negative environmental impact in the amount of more than RUB 500m, which resulted in the supervisory authority refusing to satisfy the stated requirements in full
• representing the interests of a commercial bank in disputes related to challenging transactions concluded on behalf of the bank using forged documents which led to the bank losing the collateral rights securing the fulfillment of the borrower’s obligations for more than EUR 200m. Ultimately, the client's claims were satisfied by the court
