Yury is our star litigator with over thirty years of litigation experience covering all aspects of commercial and corporate disputes in Russian courts in all instances, as well as international arbitrations. He also represents clients in criminal proceedings.

Yury’s expertise combines pre-trial advice, negotiations, and other forms of alternative dispute resolution. He always looks for early opportunities to resolve disputes through negotiation and mediation. When litigation cannot be avoided, Yury has a long track-record of winning cases for our corporate clients, particularly in disputes concerning bankruptcy, commercial relationships and contracts, real estate and construction.

Beyond a very active litigation practice, Yury has a special interest in projects in the field of energy and natural resources, especially in oil, gas and renewable energy. Yury has extensive experience advising a wide range of energy and industrial companies on various issues.

In addition, Yury provides a broad range of corporate and commercial legal support to investors, including on establishing new manufacturing facilities, restructuring existing operations, strategic and commercial advice on business reorganizations and executive disputes.

Furthermore, Yury has a wealth of expertise advising consumer and industrial companies. Yury’s client portfolio mostly consists of local and global players of retail, chemical, defense and energy sectors.

Yury is an attorney at law admitted to the St Petersburg Bar Association (Chamber of Attorneys at law).

Experience

• representing Shavara Limited in seven complex court disputes related to the termination of a joint investment project for the construction of residential apartment buildings and infrastructure
• representing PPG in litigation against the customs authority over the classification of petrochemical products
• representing ITW in proceedings against the Federal Service of State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography for the Moscow Region
• representing international airlines in disputes initiated by a ticketing agency seeking compensation for its expenses under agency agreements
• representing a leading Austrian technology and capital goods group in a dispute under SCC Rules with a Russian manufacturing company related to the delivery of turbine blades to a nuclear power plant
